Young scientists shine at Smithies Moor

Our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils took centre stage this week, demonstrating their passion for science during an engaging presentation project.

The event on Tuesday 17 March featured a range of fascinating topics, with pupils tackling big questions such as "What is an atom?" and "What would happen if the world stopped turning?" After carrying out their own research, the pupils confidently presented their findings and answered questions from the judging panel.

It was inspiring to see the level of teamwork and mutual support throughout the presentations. Pupils worked collaboratively, encouraged one another and showed kindness and respect while their peers were speaking.

This project not only highlighted the pupils’ growing scientific knowledge, but also demonstrated their confidence, communication skills and positive attitudes towards learning.

The winners were "How does an Axolotl"adapt to its Environment?" from pupils in Year 6 and "What’s the difference between turtles and tortoises?" from our Year 5 pupils.

Well done to all the young scientists involved!
